Description

Pink Bells (Rosa 'Poulbells') is a vigorous groundcover rose bred by Poulsen Roser. It is renowned for its low-growing, spreading habit and unique, drooping pink blossoms that resemble miniature bells.

Characteristics

  • Color: A bright, clear rose-pink that remains vibrant throughout the blooming cycle.
  • Type: Groundcover Rose — grows into a low, sprawling, heavily branched shrub with dense, glossy dark green foliage.
  • Fragrance: Faint to absent; bred primarily for visual impact.
  • Bloom Size: Small, miniature double flowers shaped like hanging bells that open in large, dense clusters.
  • Hardiness: USDA Zones 5a–9b.
  • Season: Continuous repeat-bloomer from early summer until the first hard frost.

Perfect For

  • Slopes and embankments where its trailing growth blankets the soil and controls erosion.
  • Cottage garden borders to cascade gracefully over retaining walls or stone edges.
  • Large patio containers, allowing the distinctive bell-shaped flowers to drape over the sides.

Care Tips

Plant in full sun and well-draining soil. Provide standard deep watering at the base; while highly resilient and cold hardy, monitor occasionally for common rose pests and black spot to keep the dense foliage immaculate.
