Description

Guardian Angel rose (also known as Parky or Harpresto) is an elegant British variety bred by Harkness Roses in 2007. Highly admired for its purity and graceful silhouette, this modern shrub rose combines a timeless, old-fashioned bloom form with excellent repeat-flowering durability.

Characteristics

  • Color: Pure soft pearl-white to creamy ivory, occasionally developing delicate apricot-pink undertones in cooler autumn weather.
  • Type: Floribunda / Upright Shrub Rose — produces beautifully balanced, swirling clusters of old-fashioned quartered blooms.
  • Fragrance: Intense, powerful fresh sweet rose perfume that is noticeable even from a distance.
  • Bloom Size: Medium to large, averaging 3 to 4 inches wide with over 40 soft petals per bloom.
  • Hardiness: USDA Zones 5–10.
  • Season: Continuous and highly productive repeat-bloomer from late spring straight through to the first autumn frosts.

Perfect For

  • Indoor cut floral designs and wedding arrangements due to its fresh, pleasing scent and clean color.
  • Mixed perennial borders and rose beds where its soft ivory tone can highlight neighboring colors.
  • Pots, containers, and small patios due to its neat, well-branched, and upright growth habit.

Care Tips

Plant in full sun and well-draining soil, watering deeply at the base to build a strong root system while keeping the dark glossy foliage clean, and prune by one-third in early spring to clear away old wood and stimulate heavy new flower buds.
