The Tatami Room rose (also known as Washitsu, The Lantern of God, or Sweet Mon Amour) is an exceptional Japanese shrub rose celebrated for its calm, elegant aesthetic. Inspired by traditional Japanese design, it is globally recognized for its unique multi-toned color transformation, nearly thornless stems, and outstanding resilience in warm climates

Characteristics

  • Color: A dynamic blend; opens with deep pink outer petals surrounding a primary core of creamy-yellow, blush, soft white-pink.
  • Type: Shrub Rose — grows into a rapid, fast-growing, and tall 5-to-6.5-foot frame with long branches and very few thorns.
  • Fragrance: Moderate to strong and sweet; a refreshing fruity aroma blending notes of apple, cherry, and lemon.
  • Bloom Size: Medium, averaging 2 to 3 inches wide, featuring beautifully layered, cup-shaped rosettes packed with over 60 thick petals.
