Description

Thierry Marx rose is an exceptional French floribunda/shrub rose hybridized by Delbard and introduced in 2019. Named after the Michelin-starred French chef, it is celebrated for its dramatic color gradients, robust health, and intense citrus perfume.

Characteristics

  • Color: Multi-tonal violet-pink with a deeply saturated, dark purple-violet center.
  • Bloom: Large 3 to 4-inch cupped rosettes tightly packed with over 100 petals.
  • Fragrance: Exceptionally strong, featuring sweet tea notes mixed with lemongrass, grapefruit, and fresh lemon.
  • Habit: Compact, upright shrub adorned with glossy, leathery dark green foliage.
  • Hardiness: USDA Zones 5–10.
  • Season: Continuous repeat-bloomer from early summer until the autumn frost.

Perfect For

  • Cutting Gardens: Its dramatic purple-centered rosettes and robust citrus perfume function beautifully in indoor bouquets.
  • Beds & Borders: The compact structure fills spaces neatly while adding high-contrast, cool tones against lighter perennials.
  • Low-Maintenance Landscapes: Highly resilient in diverse climates and naturally resistant to common fungal diseases.

Care Tips

Plant in full sun with rich, well-draining soil. This variety offers excellent natural resistance to black spot and mildew. Feed regularly and prune back slightly in late winter to maintain its neat shape and prompt abundant new spring stems.
